Enamel badge, Wigan World War One souvenir, Christmas 1914.
Has been in the collection since the 1960s.
In 1914, all the children of Wigan men that were fighting away from home were given a badge and 1lb of chocolate.
It was paid for through an appeal by the mayor of Wigan, Alderman Grimshaw. The presents were given out on Christmas Eve.
Badge bares the Moot Hall symbol for Wigan.
