Stockport Municipal Museums ‘Ex-Libris’ commemorative bookplate. It depicts a wildlife scene featuring animals and birds surrounding a human skull. The plate would have been printed from a woodblock.
The woodcut was used to commemorate the Municipal Museums of Stockport .
The woodcut was created to celebrate Stockport Museum’s early history in collecting natural history and ethnographical material.
It was possibly created by the renowned British wildlife artist Charles Tunnicliffe RA (1901-1979).
