John Claude Nattes
This is a collection of twenty four local scenes drawn by John Claude Nattes a watercolourist and topographical draughtsman.
The sketchbook originally comprised 100 drawings which were made by Nattes when he visited the area between July and October 1807. The drawings we hold are of the Barton and Worsley areas.
These sketches provide us with useful information about the topography of the Barton and Worsley areas before the industrial revolution.
