Appears to be from Shelley collection noted as being by Christopher Baldwin.
Pewter was an important industry to Wigan in the 16th – 18th Century. Thumbpiece bears the touch mark for Christopher Baldwin of Wigan.
This is a double domed tankard, the pattern of the scrolled thumbpiece (on the lid) was used by several other Wigan pewterers.
