Here you can browse objects from Bolton Museum’s collections ranging from ancient Egyptian artefacts, world famous paintings such as Thomas Moran’s Nearing Camp, contemporary art pieces, social history objects to natural history specimens.
Look out for film footage of curator Don Stenhouse talking about Creswell Crags materials, local historian Erin Beeston giving us behind the scenes access to Hall’i’th’wood, home to inventor Samuel Crompton and photographer/local historian Caroline Edge telling us all about the Spender Photographs.
Some of the objects may not be on display in the galleries. Please check with the museum before you visit.
Further information about the museum can be found on the Visitor Information pages.
